A.J. Grisanti Memorial Scholarship Fund

This scholarship is for any student pursuing an education in a restaurant, foodservice, or hospitality related major. First preference given to students attending a school in Kentucky, followed by any culinary arts students at Johnson & Wales University or the Culinary Institute of America, followed by Hotel and Restaurant Administration majors at Indiana University- Purdue and Bloomington, Indianapolis Vocational Technical College, University of Denver, Wake Technical College, Rochester Institute of Technology, Southeast Community College, Kendall College or College of DuPage.

Award amount: $2,500

Allied Buying Corporation /Norbert F. Sherman Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is for any student pursuing an education in a restaurant, foodservice, or hospitality related major who are juniors or seniors in college with an interest in restaurant or facilities design. 

Award amount: $2,500 
Who Can Apply: Current Undergraduates – Juniors & Seniors

 

Buffalo Wild Wings Scholarship

This scholarship is for any student pursuing an education in a restaurant, foodservice, or hospitality related major. 

Award amount: Varies
Who Can Apply: Any student studying in a restaurant or hospitality industry-related major

 

Cal Stamenov Scholarship 

This scholarship is for any student pursuing an education in a restaurant, foodservice, or hospitality related major. 

Award amount: N/A 
Who Can Apply: Any student pursuing an education in a restaurant, foodservice, or hospitality related major. 

 

Carol Chorbajian Scholarship Fund

This scholarship is for any student pursuing an education in a restaurant, foodservice, or hospitality related major. With first preference be given to students from Monterey County followed by students who are from California or attending college in California.

 If there are not enough eligible students meeting these requirements, the NRAEF may select recipients from the general pool of eligible candidates.

Award amount: $2,500 
Who Can Apply: Preference is given to students from Monterey County, California residents and students attending a school in California.

 

Council of Hotel and Restaurant Trainers (CHART) Scholarship 

This scholarship is for any student pursuing an education in a restaurant, foodservice or hospitality related major. ManageFirst students preferred.

Award amount: (2) $2,500 
Who Can Apply: Undergraduates/ManageFirst Students

 

Craftworks Restaurants and Breweries Scholarship 

This scholarship is for any student pursuing an education in a restaurant, foodservice, or brewery operations related major. First preference will be given to those seeking careers in brewery and brewery restaurant operations management.

Award amount: $2,500 
Who Can Apply: Any student or Craftworks employee pursuing an education in a restaurant, foodservice, or brewery operations.  

 

David Armanasco Scholarship 


This scholarship is for any student pursuing an education in a restaurant, foodservice, or hospitality related major. Individuals from Monterey County area will be considered first, those from the State of California second, and finally from other areas of the United States. Recipients must be pursuing an education and career in hospitality field.
 

Award amount: $2,500 
Who Can Apply: Preference given to students from Monterey County and residents of California. 


 

DiRoNa Undergraduate Scholarship

In 1989, DiRoNA established an endowment fund with the NRAEF to encourage students to pursue careers in the restaurant and foodservice industry. Since then, DiRoNA and the NRAEF have recognized more than 125 students with scholarship awards. Annually, DiRoNA honors its key industry partners, media patrons and past chairmen through the scholarship program.

This scholarship was created to inspire students to pursue their passion in the culinary arts.

This scholarship is for any student pursuing an education in a restaurant, foodservice, or hospitality related major.

Glenn Petrini Smile Award

Glenn R. Petrini began his career in the hospitality and culinary industry working for his father’s catering business at the Elks Club, learning everything from dishwashing to bartending.  After attending college, he continued in the restaurant and catering business.  He was head chef, general manager of several restaurants, and caterer to top politicos in Washington, DC; manager and bartender for prestigious country clubs and resort hotels; and consultant to several restaurant and catering establishments throughout his career.  Glenn listened to and advised anyone that wanted it. Regardless of how he felt, he always provided a smile and help to all that he served.
 
Award Amount:  $5,000
Who Can Apply: This scholarship is for applicants who meet the general NRAEF eligibility criteria and have a GPA below 2.9.  Applicants who have catering or banquet experience are given special consideration for this award.

 

H.J. Heinz Company Foundation Scholarship

The H. J. Heinz Company Foundation was established in 1951 to make contributions to further the public welfare. Funded each year by the H. J. Heinz Company, the H. J. Heinz Company Foundation is committed to promoting the health and nutritional needs of children and families, with priority given to programs in communities where Heinz operates. The Foundation proactively donates funds to develop and strengthen organizations that are dedicated to nutrition and alleviating malnutrition, diversity, and fostering healthy communities. The Foundation supports socially responsible endeavors and encourages Heinz employees to participate in voluntary activities in support of charitable organizations.

National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation – Scholarship

This scholarship is for any student pursuing an education in a restaurant, foodservice, or hospitality-related major.

National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation – Dr. Ray Kavanaugh Scholarship

The scholarship recipient is selected from the general pool of eligible candidates.  First preference is for a student attending Purdue.  This scholarship is for any student pursuing an education in a restaurant, foodservice, or hospitality related major.

National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation – Past Chairman Fund

This scholarship is for any student pursuing an education in a restaurant, foodservice, or hospitality related major. Recipients are selected from general pool of eligible scholarship applicants.

This scholarship was established in 1988 through donations from past chairman of the National Restaurant Association (NRA). It was originally called the Past Presidents' Fund. This scholarship fund was established to help promote the educational activities of the educational foundation.

Pete and Arlene Harman Trust Scholarship 

This unrestricted scholarship aims to inspire and encourage students to follow their dreams and achieve greatness while pursuing an education in a restaurant, foodservice, or hospitality related major.

Pete Harman, best known for founding KFC is passionate about the food industry and helping students who wish to pursue careers in the food and hospitality industries. Harman and his wife, Arline, opened their first restaurant, The Do Drop Inn, with two employees in 1941. Since then he has had a love for the industry. Harman struck gold when he worked with Harland (Colonel) Sanders to develop and prepare the KFC system for franchising, working to develop training manuals and product guides. His other claims to fame are the development of the bucket packaging and the emphasis on the "Finger-lickin' good" motto.

Rachel Ray’s Yum-O! Organization Scholarship

Recipients are selected from eligible high school students. Preference given to students attending a community college.  Recipients should represent diverse backgrounds, as well as, diverse geographical areas. Preference is for students who attend a high school participating in the Healthy Schools program (list of High Schools will be forwarded by Yum-o')

“My first job was as a waitress and I find the skills I learned then guiding me to continued success today, in all aspects of my life,” said Rachael.  “Now, I wear many hats, but my main function remains the same -- cooking quality meals and serving my customer.  I am so proud to be part of providing the means for kids to have the same opportunities as I did, to excel in this industry.”
