2020 Virtual Military Foodservice Awards

On September 16, 2020, the Foundation honored the winners of our annual Military Foodservice Awards with a virtual Facebook Live event presented by Computrition. Watch the recorded event, here, including the keynote speech from Leon Panetta, Former Director of the CIA, Former U.S. Secretary of Defense and Chairman of The Panetta Institute for Public Policy.

NRAEF Awarded $5M Youth Apprenticeship Grant from USDOL



The grant will help the Foundation expand its Hospitality Sector Registered Apprenticeship (HRSA) program and play a more active role in preparing the next generation of talent for careers in the restaurant and foodservice industry.

The NRAEF will work with four pilot states - Colorado, Delaware, Louisiana and Maryland - and link its ProStart and Restaurant Ready programs to the Youth Readiness Apprenticeship Initiative.

Coca-Cola Invests in Preparing Next Generation of Restaurant Leaders

The National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (NRAEF) announced that The Coca-Cola Company has committed $1.5 million to support preparing the next generation of restaurant leaders for meaningful jobs and careers in the restaurant and foodservice industry. Coca-Cola has been a major NRAEF donor for the past 18 years, contributing a record total of $15 million.

NRAEF Honors U.S. Military Teams for Excellence in Foodservice Operations

The Foundation will honor winners of this year’s Military Foodservice Awards with a Facebook Live virtual event, presented by Computrition, on Wednesday, September 16th at 1800 EDT (6 p.m. EDT). These Awards are a key part of the NRAEF’s commitment to help members of the military, military spouses, and veterans through training and post-duty opportunities.

NRAEF's President Appears in Restaurants Rise Session

NRAEF's Rob Gifford joined Charlie Morrison, CEO of Wingstop, Sarah Lockyer, group publisher for Nation’s Restaurant News and Restaurant Hospitality, and NRAEF Charlie Morrison scholarship award winner Laken Wagner, a hospitality student at Kansas State University for a conversation on leadership during coronavirus. The digital Restaurants Rise event, organized by Nation’s Restaurant News and Restaurant Hospitality, provides restaurant industry executives with solutions to combat the challenges of leading a company during the COVID-19 crisis.
