Scholarships : 2022 Scholars

This award will go to my senior year at DePaul University as I finish my degree in Hospitality Management. This scholarship means so much to me because I have more confidence in myself by showing myself that all my hard work is paying off. Scholarships like these keep me focused on my goals because I know that people believe in me and my dream in this industry. 

This scholarship has put me on the best path to enjoy my college experience without any financial burden. I am very involved in the School of Hotel and Restaurant Management, and this wouldn’t be possible without this foundation. Having donors invest in my future motivates me to do my best in my academics, and I hope to be able to give back one day. I am incredibly grateful for the assistance towards my education, which will help me succeed in my future.

Opportunities like this one is what allows me to grow my knowledge of our industry and pursue my dreams within it. Thanks to this scholarship, I am able to follow my long-term goal of developing my education in the hospitality industry by attending college. None of this would be possible without the generosity of this organization, and for that I would like to say, “Thank you.” 

It has been a dream for me to eventually open a restaurant, but without the proper education, my dreams seemed out of reach. This scholarship provides me the opportunity to afford college and continuously meet amazing people while pushing boundaries to reach my dreams. Providing me with this scholarship will allow me to invest my time in so many incredible programs at school. I want to make a difference in my community, which is all possible because of your generosity. 

As an international student who pays much more in tuition fees than US residents, this scholarship means a lot to me and my family. This scholarship from the National Restaurant Association plays a vital role in my future career as it allows me to continue my education in the United States. With this scholarship, I truly believe in myself to have a brighter education and future. The award and the opportunity to continue my studies will motivate me to study harder, be a better version of myself, and become a young professional in the hospitality industry.

This scholarship has made my return back to school possible! I am so grateful for the ability to return back to school. I can now complete my bachelor’s degree in culinary science at the Culinary Institute of America without financial barriers.

This scholarship is going to help me tremendously in so many ways. I will be able to focus solely on my studies and be able to maintain my GPA as I go through this final year at The Culinary Institute of America. My husband still serves the military community as a manager for on base housing, and this scholarship will take a lot of financial pressure off of us as we live in different states in this final year of school.

I am prepared and eagerly anticipating taking my cooking skills to the next level which is made possible by the NRAEF. Your consideration in my studies and academics is greatly appreciated and lends further to my motivation. This scholarship puts me that much closer to my goals and future success, and for that I thank you for your support.

Your generosity and support of students through these scholarship awards has and will continue to aid and inspire generation after generation of aspiring chefs and hospitality industry professionals. This scholarship will help ease the financial burden that comes with a long daily commute, as well as the investment in new tools and technology, required to succeed in a college environment these days. This support will be pivotal in my current pursuit of my Associate of Applied Sciences in Culinary Arts at Gallatin College – Montana State University!

Thank you so much for awarding me this scholarship as it will help pay for more than half of my tuition for the quarter! This scholarship will also help me focus more on my studies next year and not have to worry about how I am going to balance working and studying. It’s encouraging to receive support from the hospitality industry in Monterey County where I started my journey in this field.

Thank you for this scholarship as it allows us, as students, to not have to worry about financial aid. Therefore, it will give us the opportunity to focus on what we love most: food and hospitality. This scholarship will also allow me the opportunity to buy new supplies and baking equipment which will improve the quality of work I put out for my chef instructors, thus immensely improving my experience in school. Receiving this type of help from an organization like yourself puts me on a path of success when it comes to my career.

I am so grateful to have been given the opportunity to have part of my college tuition covered. I cannot emphasize enough how much of an impact your generosity will make on my college experience and future. Receiving this scholarship will allow me to go to Yale without needing to take out any loans or work full-time during my studies. Instead, I will be able to spend my first year concentrating fully on my academics without needing to stress about tuition payments. Thank you dearly for enabling me to pursue my intellectual dreams and break the poverty cycle within my family.

This scholarship will allow me to focus on my academic studies and internship opportunities while serving my community. Without the heavy weight of debt on my shoulders, the financial bumps within the industry will be easier to handle, and I can be more generous in giving my time to others. I truly appreciate the support of my bold vision to make a difference in the hospitality industry, and I will not forget the assistance and security that the NRAEF has provided me with this scholarship.

The recognition from receiving this scholarship confirms my career path for me personally. By allowing myself the much-needed time to focus and earn my degree, gracious sponsors like yourself have now changed the course of my future education, and the course of my life, for the better. All these opportunities, experiences, and dreams would be on hold without your generosity. Thank you for providing me with time to study, and, most importantly, thank you for providing me with the support I need to grow into the person I will become.

Receiving this scholarship is putting me on a path to achieve my goals and dreams. This scholarship will not only help me focus on the classes I am currently taking, but also allow me to dedicate more time to my school organizations and projects, such as leading the diversity initiative for Hilton College. Everything I have achieved so far in my academic career would not be possible if this wonderful foundation was not by my side.

I guess when you combine a resilient attitude, unconditional support, and amazing sponsors, you find yourself with a recipe for success. Not only have my grades improved but my vision for the future is now clearer than ever. It is a tremendous feeling to know what I want to do with my career and my life. My long-term goal is to own and operate a brewpub with in-house craft beer and homemade food. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being a part of my journey. 

Receiving this scholarship will allow me to get an education that can help me fully understand the ins and outs of the foodservice industry. It will also allow me to create delicious delicacies and run my own business. Because of your dedication to promote growth within the restaurant industry, I believe I will be able to receive a great education that will help me and the other members of my generation to move the foodservice industry towards a bright and beautiful future.

Going back to school was a big endeavor, especially as a working mom with two kids. Financially, I knew it would be tough, but this scholarship is a true blessing to help with the cost. Another great thing about this scholarship is that I can be an example to my daughter and show her that if you do the work to apply for scholarships, it can happen! I also would like to thank you for providing a scholarship to an older career-changer following her dreams!

I really appreciate being given the opportunity to use these funds to further my education. I could not be more grateful for all the doors that you are opening for me by providing me with this award. This scholarship will also allow me greater time and freedom to pursue more extracurriculars, volunteering, and internship opportunities provided by the University of Florida. Being given this chance means a lot more than money; it means opportunities, experience, and focus that will propel me towards accomplishing everything that I have ever dreamed of without the financial burden.

I am very thankful to NRAEF and the donors who generously provide financial assistance to the spirited and passionate future of the restaurant industry. Receiving this scholarship means that I will not have to seek employment during school, I can put 100% of my energy into being my best academic self, and I will have the time to participate in local and school sponsored culinary events to further enrich my education. This scholarship will also cover my tuition for the year and allow me to complete my Associates of Culinary Arts debt free!

Some of my goals are increasing the accessibility of fresh foods, reducing food waste, and promoting local produce across and beyond the restaurant industry. This award gives me more time to focus on my goals and my education while connecting with like-minded peers. Winning this scholarship makes me feel as though I truly can achieve all that I can think of and that I am worthy of pursuing this career.

With this award, I have not only felt gratified in my decision to pursue hospitality on both an academic and professional level, but I’ve also felt as though all my hard work towards my degree is paying off. It is comforting to know that this scholarship will be going towards what I’ve been working so hard for within my career. This scholarship has reminded me of the importance of my schoolwork, and it has given me hope in a time that hope within my industry is hard to find.
