What is the Hospitality Sector Registered Apprenticeship (HSRA)?

In the fall of 2016, the U.S. Department of Labor (USDOL) awarded the NRAEF a $1.8 million contract to develop the Hospitality Sector Registered Apprenticeship (HSRA) - the first-ever apprenticeship program specifically for the restaurant, foodservice, and hospitality industries. The USDOL officially approved and signed the standards for HSRA in June 2017, specifying the requirements necessary for employers to offer apprenticeships to their employees.

What does the restaurant industry and workforce currently look like?

Restaurants are the nation's second-largest private-sector employer. One in three American's get their first job in a restaurant. There are currently 15.3 million employees in the restaurant industry.

Who is the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation?

As the philanthropic foundation of the National Restaurant Association, the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation’s mission of service to the public is dedicated to enhancing the industry’s training and education, career development and community engagement efforts.
