Pre-Apprenticeship for Transitioning Service Members

The DOD (Department of Defense) SkillBridge program is an opportunity for Service members to gain valuable civilian work experience through the Restaurant industry training, apprenticeships, or internships during the last 180 days of service. SkillBridge connects Service members with industry partners in real-world job experiences.

For Service members SkillBridge provides an invaluable chance to work and learn in civilian career areas. For industry partners SkillBridge is an opportunity to access and leverage the world’s most highly trained and motivated workforce at no cost.

The primary focus of SkillBridge is:

• Front of the House Knowledge/Service Culture
• Back of the House / Restaurant Kitchen Knowledge
• Product Quality and Cost Control
• Branding and Marketing

The program aims to provide basic experience in a restaurant work environment that will equip service members to successfully enter into a restaurant manager Department of Labor registered apprenticeship program or be directly hired in the restaurant or food service industry.
